Meet Dan

Osteopath - BAppSci, MOst / KPJAYI Authorised / Yoga Educator

Dan specialises in acute and chronic Back, Neck, Jaw and Shoulder pain. He uses a mix of direct structural techniques, gentle non-direct osteopathic techniques and dry needling techniques that decrease pain levels, increase mobility, improve posture and prevent re-injury.

Dan has been in the health and wellness industry for over 25 years. When he is not in the clinic, he loves to surf, play golf, and roll around his yoga mat. He is also a yoga educator who travels the world teaching educational retreats and workshops.

See below for information on other conditions Dan specialises in treating.

Osteopathy is a form of alternative medicine that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders and related issues. Osteopaths view the body as a whole unit and believe that the body has the ability to heal itself given the right conditions.

Osteopathic practitioners undergo many years of specialised training to understand the relationship between the body's structure and its function. They use a variety direct and non-direct techniques, such as manipulation, stretching, and massage, to address imbalances or restrictions in the neuro-musculoskeletal system.

The principles of osteopathy emphasise the interplay between the body's structure, including the bones, muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues, and its ability to function optimally. Osteopaths take a holistic approach to healthcare and consider factors such as lifestyle, environment, and emotional well-being in their assessments and treatment plans.

Osteopathy is commonly used to address various conditions, including back pain, joint pain, sports injuries, headaches, posture problems, and certain types of musculoskeletal pain. Osteopathic treatment aims to restore balance, improve circulation, reduce pain, and enhance the body's self-healing mechanisms.

Kama Burwell

I just had an appt with Dan Fanthorpe. I came home, and tried a bunch of yoga poses that I have not tried before, and am delighted that the pain in my right hip and knee has gone! This is very exciting....

A big thanks to Dan!
